Thinking About College

This course is designed to accomplish the following goals:

Sending our children off to college, sometimes hundreds of miles away from home can often be a terrifying thought all on its own. I have found that when parents finally get over that hurdle, the next one is often even more daunting! Finding the right school, that is safe, has a good academic reputation, has a large percentage of grads getting hired in their field within a reasonable time frame, finding the applications, completing the applications, figuring out what the school wants to see on the applications, writing the essay so that it speaks to the admissions board, finding options for funding this massive expense, (okay, maybe I should stop before you have a total meltdown) - I have not only been through this with my own three daughters, but I have helped hundreds of high school students and their parents as well. I have learned many things that can help you navigate the process and condensed it down to two 2-hour sessions in this mini-course. It is designed in a way that parents can attend with or without their student - depending on what works best for your family.

The first session is mostly me disseminating information and will come with lots of supporting documentation so you don't feel like you're back in high school trying to keep up taking notes. The second session is broken into two parts. The first hour is more info. from me which is partly based on feedback and questions I illicit from you after the first session. The second hour is for any questions not covered at that point.
